Executive Bios
Doug Schulkin founded GuyRilla Marketing Group in 2008. His passion to connect, educate and inspire entrepreneurs is the driving force behind GuyRilla’s success. He also founded and sold Status Flow, a lacrosse-lifestyle clothing company now based in New York, NY. Via Status Flow, he worked directly with a number of lacrosse teams and programs throughout the country, including the national governing body of the sport, U.S. Lacrosse. Status Flow has been featured by nationally recognized publications such as Thrillist, Inside Lacrosse, Lacrosse Playground, Baltimore Magazine, and Harvard Crimson.
Doug graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Public Relations. While there, he was elected president of the school’s club lacrosse team. Under his leadership, the team played two national title games and earned an undefeated national championship season.
Brian Bauer is the Chief Operations Officer at GuyRilla. He’s an expert at guiding companies through the emerging media landscape. In fact, Brian first became involved with GuyRilla when he was asked to speak about social media’s impact on the “Bro-mmunity.” Brian’s strategic mindset, tactical skills and client orientation have made him the ideal partner for innovative businesses around the world. He has helped clients to generate leads, enhance brands and initiate bottom-line growth through social media. Brian served previously as an analyst for social media strategies firm Converseon, where he provided online brand support for Bank of America, IBM, and General Motors. He also helped The Wall Street Journal to relaunch the WSJ and Dow Jones domestic and international websites.
With extensive background in the media and entertainment sector, Brian has worked at Universal Music Group, MTV Networks, Wind-up Records, and RCA Music Group. As a Dean’s List Psychology major and College Park Scholar at the University of Maryland, Brian was selected to Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma honor societies, as well as the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Brian was also captain of UMD’s undefeated club lacrosse championship team.
